This marks Haiti’s debut appearance at the FIFA World Cup.

Match seven of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place at Boston Stadium, where Haiti and Scotland will go head-to-head in a fascinating Group C encounter. Both sides will be aiming to secure valuable points in a group that also features powerhouses Brazil and Morocco, making every match crucial in the race for a place in the knockout stages.

Haiti are set to make their first FIFA World Cup appearance since 1974, marking a historic achievement for the Caribbean nation. They booked their spot at the tournament by finishing top of their group in the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers ahead of Honduras, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. However, they will enter this fixture looking to bounce back from a narrow 2-1 defeat to Peru in their most recent outing.

Scotland, meanwhile, arrive in the United States as one of the favourites to claim second place in the group. Boasting a talented squad led by experienced stars Andy Robertson and Scott McTominay, the Scots have shown impressive form heading into the tournament. They recorded convincing victories in their last two matches, defeating Bolivia 4-0 and Curaçao 4-1, and will be eager to carry that momentum into their World Cup campaign.

Match Prediction

Scotland enter this contest as clear favourites thanks to their greater experience at the international level and the overall quality of their squad. With proven performers such as Andy Robertson and Scott McTominay leading the way, the Scots are expected to control large periods of the game. Haiti possess several exciting talents and have shown tremendous progress in recent years, but overcoming a well-organised Scottish side could prove to be a difficult challenge in their tournament opener.

Prediction: Haiti 1-2 Scotland

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international men's soccer championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026.[1] It will be jointly hosted by sixteen cities—eleven in the United States, three in Mexico, and two in Canada. The tournament will be the first FIFA World Cup to be hosted by three nations, and the first to include 48 teams, an expansion from 32 previously.

The United 2026 bid beat a rival bid by Morocco during a final vote at the 68th FIFA Congress in Moscow. It will be the first World Cup since 2002 to be co-hosted by multiple nations. With its past hosting of the 1970 and 1986 tournaments, Mexico will become the first country to host or co-host the World Cup three times. The United States previously hosted the World Cup in 1994. By contrast, it will be Canada's first time hosting or co-hosting the tournament. The event is returning to its traditional Northern Hemisphere summer schedule after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar was uniquely held in November and December.

As the host nations, Canada, Mexico, and the United States all automatically qualified. Cape Verde, Curaçao, Jordan, and Uzbekistan will all make their World Cup debuts. Argentina is the defending champion, having won its third World Cup title in 2022.

Preparations for the tournament have drawn controversy, particularly over United States immigration and visa policies affecting qualified teams and their fans, Iran's participation during the 2026 Iran war, and FIFA's use of dynamic ticket pricing.
